We are extremely pleased to announce that Dr. Lenschow was appointed the John S Daniels Professor in Immunology. The professorship was made possible by a gift from Noémi and Michael Neidorff and established in honor of Dr. John Daniels, a Washington University associate professor of clinical medicine who specializes in endocrinology and metabolism and in recognition of Dr. Lenschow’s outstanding accomplishments and contribution to immunology, rheumatology, and medicine. Dr. Lenschow is professor of medicine and pathology and immunology. She is a rheumatologist and physician-scientist whose research program focuses on understanding the interplay between type I interferons and viral pathogenesis and the impact of these interactions on autoimmune diseases. She co-directs the Department of Medicine Physician Scientist Training Program, the Immunobiology of the Rheumatic Diseases Training T32 program, and the Rheumatic Diseases Resource Research-based Center.
