The Kefalogianni lab studies the cellular and molecular mechanisms of tissue injury, inflammation, and fibrosis, with a focus on soluble receptors of growth factors and cytokines. Current projects explore the roles of cellular and circulating TNF Receptors 1 and 2 in kidney disease as well as their systemic effects. In our studies, we are using mouse models of disease, patient samples and a variety of methods including cell culture, single-cell RNA sequencing, flow cytometry/FACS, and state-of-the art mass cytometry and imaging.
