Main Campus

WashU’s Barnes-Jewish and St. Louis Children’s Hospitals are consistently ranked among the best in the nation by US News & World Report. The WashU reputation for clinical excellence attracts patients from near and far to seek care for their rheumatic diseases in our hospitals. The result? Med-Peds fellows hone high quality clinical skills delivering rheumatologic care across the age continuum. As an added benefit, the hospitals and outpatient clinics are located on the same medical campus. Med-Peds fellows easily move within clinical spaces that are connected through a series of bridges.

Rheumatology Health Care Transitions Clinic

Reema Syed, MD , a med-peds rheumatology attending physician, leads the WashU Rheumatology Health Care Transitions Clinic. This clinic takes place at the Barnes-Jewish West County location, about 20 minutes west of main campus. Here, fellows work with an interprofessional team to support patients at risk of being lost to care and/or other poor health outcomes as they transition from pediatric to adult rheumatology. Med-Peds fellows follow some of their own patients in this clinic starting in their third year, fully integrating adult and pediatric rheumatology in their patient care experiences.
