Kypha -Complement activation signatures in complement-mediated diseases:

Evaluating the impact of pre-analytical handling on complement biomarker levels using the Research Use Only (RUO), and not intended for use in diagnosic procedures,ii Kypha instruments (Kypha Comp act® and RapiPlexTM) on single and multiplex Rapid Test kits with single and multiplex Controls, such as Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3) in patients with complement-mediated diseases. The aim is to understand the impact of sample storage time and temperature on complement activation measurements in complement-mediated diseases. This information will inform best practices for sample handling in these diseases, ultimately allowing for accurate and interpretable complement measurements to inform patient care.

– Current Target Population: Persons with complement-mediated diseases 18 years and older.

– Inclusion Criteria: Diagnosed by a physician with a complement-mediated disease (such as thrombotic microangiopathy, lupus, etc).

– Exclusion Criteria: Minors (<18 years old),  Pregnant/lactating women, Chronic viral illnesses (i.e. hepatitis B, C, or HIV), End-stage kidney or liver disease,  Non-English speakers requiring a translator.

– Remunaration: $25 prepaid gift card.
