Signals & Holistic Review
We holistically review all applications received by . Our holistic review assesses each candidate’s excellence in patient care, leadership, research, medical education, health advocacy, and commitment to rheumatology. We use signals to identify applicants with a strong interest in the WashU Rheumatology Fellowship; a signal increases the likelihood of receiving an interview invitation but is neither a guarantee nor a requirement for interviewing with our program.
Match
We participate in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP). Each year, we submit our program’s rank order list before the annual American College of Rheumatology Convergence Conference to mitigate any bias incurred from meeting applicants in person. So, if you’re at Convergence, don’t feel awkward about chatting with us. It would make our day!
Additional information about WashU’s policy for eligibility, selection, and appointment of fellow trainees is available on the WashU Graduate Medical Education website.
With the purpose of enhancing equity, accessibility, and affordability, the WashU Rheumatology Fellowship only conducts interviews virtually (AAMC and AAIM ). The interview day includes an overview of our program, attendance at Grand Rounds, interviews with the program director and three additional faculty, and an open discussion with current fellows. We coordinate interviews through email, so keep an eye out for messages from laceyfeigl@wustl.edu.
Following interviews, we encourage applicants to email Lacey with any clarifying questions. We do not expect routine thank you emails.
