Lisa Zickuhr, MD MHPE is a general rheumatologist and medical educator who teaches learners from medical school through continuing medical education and studies initiatives that enhance training. She is committed to delivering a rheumatology fellowship that is rich in clinical experiences and personalized to fellows’ career goals, all wrapped up in a supportive environment. Nurturing future rheumatologists is Lisa’s jam, and she thrives on sponsoring fellows and amplifying their accomplishments. If medical education is also your passion, she looks forward to sharing teaching opportunities with you, mentoring you in projects, and introducing you to the rheumatology med ed community. In her spare time, Lisa enjoys finding the best bargains, working on her green thumb, and eating great food from great restaurants.

Al Kim, MD, PhD

Al “Just call me Al” Kim, MD PhD is an internationally recognized thought leader in systemic lupus erythematosus and the translational applications of immunology. He aspires to teach rheumatology fellows how to clinically interpret p values and to build foundations for their early careers. Al is a bit of a celebrity in the rheumatology community, and if you hang out with him, you’re likely to meet multiple other big names in rheumatology, several MSLs (medical science liaisons), and probably one or two of his patients who recognize him on the street, expanding your professional network all the while. When Al is off the clock, he enjoys fine dining, ice hockey, golf, and spending time with his wife and cats. 

Iris Lee, MD, PhD
Rheumatology Associate Fellowship Program Director
Instructor of Medicine

Iris Lee, MD merges clinical practice with basic science research. Her path to rheumatology first started in ophthalmology residency before veering into internal medicine and ultimately rheumatology, where she specializes in autoimmune eye disease and B cell biology. She is dedicated to supporting fellows and the fellowship to be the best versions of themselves. When not at work, you’ll catch Dr. Lee spending time with her husband and tending to all of her babies, be it in human, canine, or plant form.

Lacey is passionate about the education of future rheumatologists and furthering the professional development of rheumatology fellowship coordinators like herself. She volunteers for our local chapters of the Lupus Foundation of America and Arthritis Foundation. When she’s not working, you can find her with a book in her hand or headed to a concert.
