Med-Peds Rheumatology Fellowship Schedule
The WashU Med-Peds Rheumatology Fellowship is a four-year program that delivers excellent clinical training and exciting career development opportunities. In years 1 and 2, fellows immerse themselves in the clinical practice of adult and pediatric rheumatology through a combination of inpatient and outpatient rotations. Trainees’ preferences and scheduling availability direct the order of focus (i.e. pediatrics followed by adult or adult before pediatrics). Years 3 and 4 continue fellows’ clinical training while providing flexibility for exploring career interests and conducting scholarship. Fellows pursuing careers in clinical practice or medical education continue their outpatient clinical footprint and may conduct inpatient consultations during their third and fourth years. , while Fellows entering laboratory or clinical research maintain their clinical skills in 1-2 weekly outpatient clinics and 2-4 weeks of inpatient pediatric consults, maximizing usually forgo inpatient consultations to maximize their time for research.
