To begin tackling some of the major barriers limiting equitable, affordable, and available access to needed healthcare services, Deepali Sen, MD and Andrew Robinson,
MSW applied and obtained a Barnes-Jewish Hospital Foundation grant to address
some of the underserved patients’ social stressors such as food, housing, medication
and transportation insecurities that impact their medical and rheumatology clinic appointment compliance, increasing their 30-day readmission.
